The Town Pond Access Point is located at the junction of Route 100 and Carroll Road.

The Path meanders south to the Mad River Green shopping center via a picturesque boardwalk and open meadow. Just before the Green it turns east back over Route 100, skirts a town cemetery, and takes a moderate drop through a hardwood forest down along the river to the east end of the Fiddlers Green.

From the Town Pond heading north, the Path takes you over the pond dam to the sidewalk on the east side of Route 100. After a few hundred yards the Path turns east behind an architect’s office and up onto a large earthen berm, which was part of the 19th Century dam complex that used the river to power local mills. The Path follows the river to the rear of historic Waitsfield Village and comes out onto Bridge Street at the 1840s covered bridge. From here it leads back out to Route 100 then north to the General Wait House.
