Description

This section of the Cross Vermont Trail on the former railbed is a pleasant, gradual trail through stands of large trees with some sweeping views of Wells River, wetlands, and farms beyond. Wildlife viewing opportunities reward the quiet trail user. Together with the Boltonville Nature Trail and the Blue Mountain Nature Trail, there is a network of nearly four miles throughout the Wells River Conservation Area (including properties of the Al-len Farm, State of Vermont, Town of Newbury, and Blue Mountain Union School.)

Trailhead at Boltonville, with parking, north side of Route 302 just east of junction of Route 302 and Boltonville Road. (Just over 0.5 miles west of I-91 Exit 17.)
