Redstone Quarry

Punctuated by a scenic view off of a rocky cliff and inhabited by a forest of cedars, the Redstone Quarry is still somehow overlooked. Tucked away in a neighborhood in Burlington’s South End, this small preserve has a few winding, informal trails beginning from Hoover Street and Redstone Terrace. Limited parking is available.

Description

Redstone Quarry is a small natural area hidden in a neighborhood in Burlington. A small trail network allows for a short loop through a wetland on the base of cedar-lined cliffs. The wall of the old quarry is indeed made of red sandstones, but equally impressive is the view of the lake that can be seen from the north end of the natural area which does require a short scramble up the rocky perimeter. Please respect the neighbors and do not continue north on the ledges onto private property.
