Description

Crescent Woods is a hidden natural area in Burlington's South End. This shady little ravine is all that remains of the natural portion of the Englesby Brook Watershed, which is almost entirely within densely populated Burlington. The trails begin off of Crescent Road by descending a staircase that is hard to see when passing by. The dirt trails start near the culvert that pipes the stream under the road and continue along the brook, occasionally forcing trail users to cross it via rocks, logs, or wet feet. The BPRW-owned portion of the ravine does not link up to other streets, so users should exit back out the staircase to Crescent Road after exploring the 3 acre park.

Please remember:

What a delightful surprise to find this little woods tucked back of Shelburne Road next to Kinney’s. Lovely spot to listen for birds, hear the water of the brook and cross some wooden plank bridges and stone work. Bring a pencil and notebook if you like to draw.
Several batches of white trilliums flowering in early May. Other ground covers and mosses emerging.
