Description

The easy, wide (8–12 feet) and mostly flat paved Appel Way Trail connects Wheelock Park to historic Court Street. The trail is lined with magnificent examples of Victorian architecture and passes through numerous parks and natural spaces, crossing the Ashuelot River and intersecting with the Jonathan Daniels Trail.

Note that signage is limited near the parking areas, and it’s easy to accidentally walk into the adjacent frisbee golf course if you're unfamiliar with the layout. First-time visitors may want to review a map in advance to avoid confusion at the trailhead.

Restrooms are available at Wheelock Park in the summer only.
