Bald Mountain and Artist's Bluff, which both provide magnificent views of Franconia Notch, can be reached by hiking a loop starting with the Bald Mountain - Artist's Bluff Path and then connecting to the Short Circuit Trail to return to the parking area. The path climbs and descends relatively moderately with short steep sections. The spur to the summit of Bald Mountain includes some ledge scrambling.

New Hampshire State ParksThe parking area is a large lot across Profile Road from the base of Cannon Mountain. This parking lot is sometimes closed when the ski area is not open, at which times cars must be parked in a signed designated area just off the highway.
