Description

The Blue Mountain Nature Trail starts at Blue Mountain School and winds down to the Cross Vermont Trail (on the old Montpelier - Wells River railbed) then goes right on the Cross Vermont Trail, then left into the woods, winding up to a hemlock and spruce forested plateau offering beautiful views of the Wells River.

This trail, along with all of the Wells River Conservation area, offers direct access for the students of Blue Mountain School to a hands-on natural science resource, right in their backyard.

The Cross Vermont Trail (on the old Montpelier - Wells River railbed) continues to the east and west of the Blue Mountain Trail.
