The Welch-Dickey Loop is a dramatic hiking route over Welch and Dickey Mountains, famous for long exposed ridgelines that provide broad views of Waterville Valley and the Southern White Mountains. Much of the trail climbs and descends over bare granite bedrock, an unusual mountain landscape for such relatively low elevations. The loop is commonly hiked in either direction.
NOTE: In fall, winter, and spring, sections of trail across the exposed ledges can become extremely icy and dangerous- traction is highly recommended.
