Description

Nordic skiing at Sleepy Hollow offers 35 km of well-groomed trails for both classic and skate skiing. Experience “PistenBully 100” quality grooming, complete with a tiller! There are also 15 km of marked snowshoe trails that are separate from the ski trails and meander through the property. Skiers and snowshoers are encouraged to visit Butternut Cabin, which overlooks a fantastic view of Camel's Hump. Maps of the winter trails are available on the Ski and Bike Center website.

Other Information

The Center hosts weddings and meetings in the Round Barn Event Center and group accommodations are available at the Sleepy Hollow Inn and there are 8 bunks with mattresses at the rustic Butternut Cabin. The Center also offers excellent mountain biking in the warmer months.

Trailhead Information

Located in the scenic town of Huntington, Vermont, only 30 minutes from Burlington.

From Interstate 89: Take Exit 11 (Richmond). Take US Route 2 east to the town of Richmond.  At traffic light in Richmond go right onto Bridge Street. Follow Bridge Street through town, after crossing the bridge, the road takes a sharp right and turns into Huntington Road. Follow Huntington Road for about 5 miles. Turn right onto Sherman Hollow Road (there are also signs for Birds of Vermont Museum and Green Mountain Audubon Nature Center). Sleepy Hollow is 1.8 miles up Sherman Hollow Road on the left.

From Hinesburg (Route 116): Take Mechanicsville Road (or CVU Road) to Richmond-Hinesburg Road (towards Richmond), follow for about 2.5 miles. Go right on Magee Hill Road (this is a dirt road across from Pond Brook Road); Magee Hill Road becomes Sherman Hollow Road at 1 mile, follow Sherman Hollow 2.5 miles to Sleepy Hollow, which is on the right. If you miss Magee Hill Road, you can also turn right onto Swamp Road. Follow until it ends (0.5 miles) and then take a left onto Sherman Hollow Road. Follow 2.5 miles and Sleepy Hollow is on your right.
