This is a moderate walk on a Class 4 road with views of scenic rocky cliffs. The road also provides access to the Middlesex Town Forest located on the east side of the road. The forest along the road is home to a wide variety of wildflowers making this a great spring walk. Beyond the town line the road continues into Waterbury and leads to a sizable beaver pond.

Town of MiddlesexExit 9 off I-89, proceed north on Center Road then turn left onto Notch Road. Proceed for 1.64 miles, bear right at T junction and continue another 0.37 miles. At the end of the Class 3 section of the road there is a sign on the left for the Middlesex Notch Wildlife Management Area and parking is available along the side of the road. Please don't block access to anyone's driveways or the Class 4 section of the road that continues from this point.
