The groomed trails connect Hubbard Brook to North Branch River Park and on to the North Street trails in East Montpelier.
Hubbard Park:
On the Hubbard Park side, there is a variety of terrain for walkers, skiers and fat bikers. The easiest trail is the Stone Tower Path, while the Fitness, Cliffside and Streamside trails offer more of a challenge. Please note that fat biking is only allowed on the Stone Tower Loop and down to the Parks Connector (to see which trails allow biking, go to the Trail Map tab and click Legend > Uses > Mountain Biking).
Dogs are allowed off leash in Hubbard Park, but must be under voice control.
North Branch River Park and North Branch Nature Center:
The North Branch side of the river offers easy trails along the river and in the North Branch Nature Center fields and more challenging terrain up into the hills. The intermediate trails are narrow and award skiers and fat bikers with fun downhills. Skiers can continue north along the Sparrow Farm Trail to the North Street trails. Fat bikes are not permitted past the intersection with Downy.
Dogs must be on leash in the North Branch River Park
The rest of the trail system in both Hubbard and North Branch Park is open in the winter, but not groomed. To see how the trails connect, click "Show" on the View Connector Trails list under the map in the Trail Map tab.
Please be respectful of other users when out on the trails. Fat bikers should yield to both skiers and snowshoers. Snowshoers should yield to skiers.
The Montpelier Parks Department provides trail condition updates on their Facebook page throughout the winter.
