The Mascoma River Greenway is a scenic 2.5-mile paved multi-use path that begins in the heart of downtown Lebanon and stretches east to connect with the 57.6-mile Northern Rail Trail. Once a former railway corridor, the Greenway offers a wide (over 6 feet), level surface suitable for walking, biking, and wheelchairs.
The trail highlights some of Lebanon’s most vibrant features. It passes through a long, art-filled tunnel showcasing colorful murals by local artists, and offers beautiful views as it crosses the Mascoma River on a dedicated bridge.
Users should be aware that about one-third of the way in, the trail intersects with a busy roadway. There are no traffic signals, faded crosswalks, and fast-moving cars—factors that may present challenges for those with limited mobility or young children. Despite this, the Greenway remains a highly used and well-loved route in the community.
