The Lake Morey Ice Skating Trail is the longest ice trail in the United States, when ice conditions permit its full operation. Crossing the entire lake from north to south, or some winters circling the lake’s perimeter, the trail offers panoramic views and the chance to spot a bald eagle. Nordic ice skates may be rented from Nordic Skater in Norwich, VT or at the Lake Morey Resort's Skate Shack.
Current ice trail conditions can be found at the Lake Morey Resort website. The Ice Skating Trail is the site of an annual Skate-a-thon in January, weather and ice conditions permitting. Skate-a-thon 2014 was held on January 19 with over 200 participants. Please check the Upper Valley Trails Alliance web site for event updates.
Dogs are allowed, but much be kept under control. Please clean up after your pets.
The trail is maintained by Lake Morey Resort in partnership with the Upper Valley Trails Alliance.

Skating Access Points: The Lake Morey Skating Trail is open to the public - after all the lake is a public place. Lake Morey Resort allows anyone wishing to access the trail to cross their lakefront to access the trail. You may use the Resort's west parking lot and walk on their lakefront access driveway to reach the lake. Some weekends are very busy at the Resort and parking spaces may be at a premium. Alternately you can access the trail via the state boat launch and parking area on the west side of the lake.
