NOTICE: A new softball field was built in 2015 as part of the Dresden School District's Dresden Athletic Fields complex. The landowner removed trees at the end of the trail loop to make room for this new playing field and a section of the trail has been roped off with flagging to identify the section of the trail currently closed. Please respect the landowner's request to stay out of the construction zone, in particular, avoid the ball field while grass seed becomes well rooted and stabilizes the fields soils. The Upper Valley Trails Alliance is working with the Dresden School District to ensure the trail continues to provide enjoyment and access to the fields. Trail access continues to be available on most of the trail during the construction and grow-in period (2016). A temporary trail connector was built on June 22, 2015 to form a new short loop trail that avoids the construction zone. The kiosk was re-located to the edge of the forest by the softball field in 2016.

The King Arthur Trail provides a great way to travel off road from Mill Road to the Dresden Athletic Fields.

Trail sections nearest the King Arthur Flour Company were rerouted to tie in with landscaping, driveway, and store changes completed in fall 2012 as part of their expansion plans. This bark mulched section may not be suitable for riding a bike due to the less firm treadway; however, a short walk along the mulched trail, upslope from the driveway, will bring you to firm packed trail sections. The trail loop nearest Dresden Athletic Fields offers a pleasant retreat for walkers and riders interested in a short family hike within ear shot of the nearby playing fields.

You'll avoid Route 5 traffic and have the pleasure of walking, skiing, or riding (using a mountain bike during dry season) through pine and mixed woodlands to the playing fields.

If you are visiting the playing fields for a game, walk over to the trailhead kiosk and take a leisurely hike around the loop path nearest the fields or take a short hike to grab a snack at King Arthur Flour Company.
