Description

Great Glen Trails' unique location in Pinkham Notch provides spectacular views up to the Great Gulf Wilderness and the Presidential Mountain Range. The trail network, open to walking, running, and biking in the summer, offers trails for the whole family and for all skill levels. 

The rolling carriage roads and trails are clearly marked and explore forests, pass through beautiful meadows and by scenic rivers, and offer stunning mountain vistas. There are 4.4 miles of easy carriage roads and 2.5 miles of intermediate carriage roads. Of the singletrack trails, 0.6 miles are rated as easier, 0.6 miles as intermediate, with 4 miles of  technical trails for advanced mountain bikers looking for a challenge. There are 2 miles of intermediate and challenging doubletrack trails as well.

Walkers and trail runners may access the carriage roads and trails any day of the week at no charge. There are daily passes for biking the carriage roads and trails. A full fleet of adult and children's bicycles are available to rent.

Trailhead Information

From Gorham, head south on NH-16 for 7.8 miles to the Outdoor Center. There is parking at the base lodge on the left.

From the Village of Jackson at the junction of NH-16 and NH-16A, head north on NH-16 for 11.9 miles. Parking at the base lodge will be on the right.
