Description

The half-mile Connecticut River Access Trail (yellow blazes) heads north from the parking area, traveling along the east bank of the Connecticut River. There is bog bridging along much of this section, but it can still be quite wet in the spring.  This trail is for foot traffic only, and provides access to the river for fishing. The trail then turns eastward, crossing Favreau Brook (there is no bridge, exercise caution here) and continuing 0.2 miles to one of the gravel roads in the interior of the property.

The Access Trail connects to a 9 mile network of gravel roads on this property. These gravel roads are open to walking, biking and hunting, and include snowmobile trail 128, a key corridor connecting Puitssburg with West Stewartstown ahd Colebrook.

Near the height of land lies the old Bressette Farm. When the Washburns acquired the farm, they removed the structures but kept the fields open for the views and for wildlife habitat. The Forest Society maintains these fields as wildlife habitat.
