Follow a woods road for 0.8 miles through mixed forest to the shore of the pond. Return by same route.
Now called Wallingford Pond, this was once known to locals as Spectacle Pond because of its shape.

Green Mountain National Forest: Supervisor's Office - RutlandFrom the intersection of US Route 7 and VT Route 140 at the stop light in Wallingford Village, take Route 140 east for 2.3 miles; bear right onto Sugar Hill Road for 1.7 miles; turn right onto Forest Road 20 for 2.3 miles to a trailhead sign on the left near the end of the driveable road. Park on the left. Start your hike behind the trailhead sign.
