UPDATE FALL 2020 - Reservations are now required for day use at Silver Lake State Park. Visit NH State Parks to make a reservation.

Silver Lake State Park spans 80 acres and its sandy 1,000-foot beach curves along 34-acre Silver Lake. Popular activities in the park include swimming, picnicking, and boating. Amenities include picnic tables and kayak rentals. There is a short trail loop starting from the beach and miles of hiking trails starting from the main parking lot and entering neighboring Spalding Town Forest.

Other Information

Due to the popularity of Silver Lake State Park's beach area on nice weekends and holidays, the beach will most likely sell-out in the morning hours. Once the beach area reaches capacity additional beach goers cannot be admitted due to safety concerns.

There is a fee to access this state park; please check the fee schedule on the NH State Parks website. Season passes are available. When park is unstaffed during the season, please use Iron Ranger (self-serve pay station).

The state park's operating season is generally Memorial Day through Labor Day. The parking area is plowed in the winter and hiking trails are accessible year-round. Snowmobiles groom and maintain some of these trails in the winter season.

Please note that geocaching in not allowed in any New Hampshire State Park.
