The Rocky Gorge Scenic Area is a popular and family-friendly stop along the Kancamagus Highway. It offers a scenic, accessible trail experience leading to the Rocky Gorge Waterfall. This accessible portion of trail is over 8 feet wide with minimal grades, though please note there is no distinct ending to the accessible portion. Benches along the way provide places to rest and enjoy views of the Swift River. See Trail Access Information below for more information about this Accessible Experience.
Beyond the waterfall, the 0.7-mile Lovequist Loop circles Falls Pond and serves as an access point to the Nanamocomuck Ski Trail in winter. There are numerous spur trails, though they are without signage and can make navigation confusing.
The site also features public restrooms and a picnic area along the Swift River.
The area is very heavily visited, so expect crowds—especially on weekends.
(Includes trail leading to waterfall; does not include loop around pond)
