Description

This scenic loop begins at the Osmore Pond picnic shelter then travels south veering away from the pond edge towards the junction with the Little Deer Trail at 0.6 miles. Continuing around the pond, the trail crosses Hosmer Brook and heads north to the trail junction. At the north end of pond, the loop trail meets an access trail from New Discovery Campground. From here, the loop trail follows the pond back to the picnic shelter. The trail may be wet at times.

There is a day-use fee to enter New Discovery State Park.

Trailhead Information

Osmore Pond Trailhead is accessed via the New Discovery Vermont State Park entrance on VT-232, 4.3 miles south of US-2 in Marshfield and 9.2 miles north of US-302 in Groton. Memorial Day through Columbus Day there is a day use fee for those not staying at state park campgrounds. After Columbus Day, trailhead access is via the unmarked road between the white Ranger House on VT-232 at New Discovery State Park and the Maintenance Shop on VT-232.
