Description

The Flume is a natural 800 foot gorge carved into Conway granite with multiple waterfalls and natural attractions. Currently the Flume Trail is a one-way, 2-mile loop trail that takes approximately 1.5 hours to complete. Start and end the trail at the check-in booths at the Visitor Center. Throughout the trail, there are boardwalks and stairs that may be slippery when wet.

Book your trip to Flume Gorge: Visitors should make a reservation before arriving at the park. Tickets can either be printed at home or displayed on a mobile device for scanning. Visitors who do not have a reservation when the Flume is sold out will be turned away. Please plan ahead as the Flume Gorge frequently sells out, especially on weekends.

There is also a short loop nature trail that starts from the south side of the Flume Parking Lot.

Please visit NH State Park's Flume website for detailed information on park policies and the natural history of The Flume.

Other Information

Use guidelines
  • Please note that pets are not permitted on the trails at The Flume and are only permitted in designated dog walk areas off of the parking lot.
  • The Flume is open daily 9 am to 5 pm.
  • Reservations include a fee for visiting the park
Off season

The Flume is staffed and open Memorial Day through the end of October. In the off season, the park is typically not staffed, comfort stations are not available and gates may be closed. The off-season poses unique risks inherent when participating in outdoor recreational activities. Recreationists should possess the necessary knowledge, skill, and equipment to ensure their own safety. Users assume all risk while recreating in State Park lands.

Trail Tips

Dispose of Waste Properly
Keep the Twin States (Vermont & New Hampshire) green and clean! Pick up trash, even if it's not yours. Leave soon-to-be trash like excess packaging, stickers, and twist ties at home.

Trailhead Information

The parking area is located off of I-93 at Exit 34A.

Please note that visitors should make reservations online before arriving at the Flume. Time slots and full days may sell out ahead of time.
