Description

Dashney Nordic Center offers over 12 kilometers of groomed trails for nordic ski and snowshoe enthusiasts. The trails twist and turn through the forest and emerge into fields with splendid views of Burke Mountain and Willoughby Gap.

The Nordic Center is run by Burke Mountain in partnership with Northwoods Stewardship Center. For information on pass fees and rentals, visit the Burke Mountain website.

Trail User Responsibilities:

  • Nordic skiing and snowshoeing are activities that have inherent risks.
  • Use trails at your own risk, unmarked hazards may exist at any time.
  • In case of emergency, dial 911.
  • Please NO WALKING on trails. Skis or snowshoes are required. Snowshoers, please stay off groomed tracks.
  • Dogs are allowed on all trails except Sugarwoods and Shortcut. Please clean up after your dog and have them on voice control or on leash.
  • Trail Crew and grooming equipment may be on the trails at any time.
  • No bikes allowed in winter. For nearby fat biking trails, please see the Kingdom Trails: Fat Bike Trails page. 
  • Dashney Nordic Center trails are open for walking, running and biking in the summer. The summer mountain bike trails are part of the Kingdom Trails system.

Be prepared to find your way home. Familiarize yourself with the area before you set out and bring your map and compass along.

Trailhead Information

To get to the trailhead from East Burke, head north on VT-114 then turn right on Mountain Road. After 1.4 miles, turn left on Dashney Road. Parking for the Nordic Center is available at the end of the road in two plowed lots.
