Description

This trail is a four season rail-trail that starts in the center of Alburgh Village and heads east through the Mud Creek Wildlife Management Area. The terrain is mostly flat and perfect for bicycling or walking. Corn fields, vast cattail filled wetlands, and scenic views of wetlands make up most of this trail. The trail crosses Route 78 and a couple of quiet side roads. The trail currently ends at McGreggor Point Road where there is no parking. There are plans to extend further east to the lake across newly purchased town property.

Trail Tips

Plan Ahead and Prepare
Make a Plan B before you head out the door. If the parking lot is full when you arrive at the trailhead, go to your second destination.

Trailhead Information

Park in the Alburgh Industrial Park, located across from the town fire station off Route 2. You'll see the start of the path ahead of you at the end of the road (don't bear right).
