Description

Use of the trails is free and open to the public for walking, hiking, and horseback riding. In the winter, trails are groomed for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing by the Woodstock Inn & Resort Nordic Center. Trail passes are required for winter use, call the Nordic Center at 802.457.6674.

Walk under the cool canopy of centuries-old hemlocks, beech and open-growth sugar maples to visit the Pogue, a 14-acre pond perched near the mountain summit. Don't miss Mount Tom's South Peak, where you can enjoy a bird's-eye view of Woodstock.

The National Park trails are part of a network of over 30 miles of trails that connects the National Park, town parks, and the village of Woodstock. Suggested routes are below.

  • Mountain Road to the Pogue to South Peak Trail
  • Billings Park (Town of Woodstock) Faulkner Trail
  • Maple Trail to The Pogue
  • Mountain Road to Nordic Shelter
  • North Ridge Loop
