A difficult trail. The first part of the trail is a steep incline for about a mile, after which it flattens out. The trail ends at Lamb Road which is a Class 6 unmaintained road. It is possible to walk out Lamb Road to Meany Road and back around but it's many miles on back country roads. Most people go out and back. The lot just east of the forest was logged recently and offers a diversity of habitat for wildlife. Part of the trail runs through a hemlock stand that has been a deer wintering yard. Bear have also been seen in the forest.
