Description

This trail is a four season rail-trail that starts in the center of Alburgh Village and heads east through the Mud Creek Wildlife Management Area. The terrain is mostly flat and perfect for bicycling or walking. Corn fields, vast cattail filled wetlands, and scenic views of wetlands make up most of this trail. The trail crosses Route 78 and a couple of quiet side roads. The trail currently ends at McGreggor Point Road where there is no parking. There are plans to extend further east to the lake across newly purchased town property.

Hiking Mud Season
March 20, 2024 – May 24, 2024

It is mud season in Vermont. Even if a trail is marked as open, pay attention to trail conditions. If you encounter mud or ice, turn around. Come back once the trail has had time to dry out.
